Dis nie nodig om baie tyd saam met die Coetzee's deur te bring om uit te vind dat hulle 'n baie hegte gesin is nie. Daar is duidelik baie warmte en 'n oorvloed liefde in hulle huis. Dit was vir my veral mooi om te sien hoe erg die boetie en sussie oor mekaar is. Ek wou hulle opvreet toe ek hulle vra om by die bome te staan vir 'n foto en hulle spontaan 'n dansie begin doen! Baie dankie vir die geleentheid om julle te kon afneem, dit was heerlik om julle te ontoet!
Every now and then I get reminded of just how small the world is. Irma heard about me from a mutual friend (who went to school with me in Windhoek) while the two of them were living in different countries in Europe. Irma and her husband recently moved backed to South Africa shortly after becoming parents to the most adorable, cuddly baby. She and her siblings are now spread between Stellenbosch, Randburg and Windhoek,so when they, together with their parents, were recently all gathered in Stellenbosch they got me to take a few pictures of all of them together. And what a jolly bunch thye are! While the boys were more interested in practicing their ninja fighting moves, Irma's baby definitely stole the show. Dit was 'n eerste vir my toe Shaun my kontak en se dat hulle graag gesinsfoto's wil laat neem in 'n park in Junie - met 'n 3 weke oue baba! Hy het my oortuig dat dit nie 'n probleem sal wees nie en dat hulle nuwe Bou Bulletjie boonop baie taai is! Gelukkig het die weer saam gespeel en die afgesproke dag was 'n perfekte, heerlike warm, windstil wintersdag soos net die Boland dit kan optower. Ek hoop julle geniet die foto's net so baie soos wat ek geniet het om dit te neem, en mag daai Blou Bul en sy trotse sussie vir julle nog baie vreugde bring!
Sedert ek die pragtige Janine en Marcel afgeneem het terwyl hulle vir Mile verwag het, het ek gebrand van nuuskierigheid om die nuwe mensie te ontmoet. En dit was definitief die wag werd, want die meisie het net soveel persoonlikheid as "looks" gekry! Sy wou nie juis veel weet van slaap nie en het net rustig geraak as haar mamma en pappa haar handjies styf vashou. Dis te dierbaar! Terwyl sy wakker was het sy daai kleine lyfie so gewikkel en woel dat ek die kostelikste gesiguidrukkings kon afneem. Geniet julle lieflike dogtertjie, ek is seker sy gaan julle nog ure se vermaak en tonne plesier verskaf!
My seuntjie Ben was nog nie 'n jaar oud nie toe hy die eerste keer vir Ava in 'n TopTots klassie gewaar. Hy het hom nie juis aan die ander kindertjies gesteur nie, maar vir Ava het hy drukkies en soentjies uitgedeel met elke kans wat hy kon kry. En mens kon dadelik sien hoekom! Sedertdien het ek en Adeline goeie vriendinne geword. Ek was so opgewonde toe sy my meedeel dat hulle graag familie foto's wil laat neem, want ek sien lankal daarna uit om die porseleinpoppie voor die lens te kry. Die tydsberekening was perfek, want met Ava se leliewit velletjie het die sagte herfskleure die ideale sprokiesagtige agtergrond geskep. Dit was 'n fees om die pragtige gesin af te neem!
The Skinner's are a gorgeous blue-eyed family who just became another (very handsome!) little member richer. The weather was rainy and gloomy all week long so we've decided to do the shoot in the comfort of their own home so that we disrupt the baby as little as possible. Everytime I do a newborn shoot and look at this tiny but perfect new human being I am once again in awe at the wonder of creation. I love my job! Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them.
Die Du Toit's is nie familie van ons nie, maar wel dierbare vriende al vir baie jare. Hulle is die trotse ouers van 'n pragtige blinkoog en besige twee-jarige dogtertjie, Lisa. Dit was heerlik om 'n perfekte Bolandse oggend saam met die drie in die natuurtuin deur te bring. Lisa het heerlik gespeel en met al die liefde tussen hulle was dit maklik om mooi foto's te neem. Dit was veral mooi om die verhouding en interaksie tussen haar en haar pa dop te hou. Hy is definitief haar groot held op die stadium - presies soos dit moet wees!
Judith and Graeme are from the UK, but they love South Africa and have been here four times before already. Their son Stuart gave them this photoshoot as a Christmas gift to use on their fifth visit. And what a privilege it was to meet these two inspiring people. They are literally making the most of every second they are spending in our beautiful country and soaking up every ray of sunshine. They had an action packed day every day and it was a challenge to carve an hour out of their busy traveling schedule for this shoot! Made me realise again we have to open our eyes daily to the beauty around us and to enjoy every moment to the fullest. It's such a blessing to live here!
Janine en Marcel word eersdaag 'n baba dogtertjie ryker en ek voel so geëerd dat hulle my met die taak toevertrou het om hierdie kosbare tyd en herinneringe vir hulle vas te vang. Hulle is so 'n pragtige paartjie wat duidelik baie lief is vir mekaar, ek is seker hulle gaan wonderlike ouers wees. Dit was heerlik om hulle te ontmoet tydens hierdie fotosessie. Ek is nou self opgewonde oor die kleinding se koms en sien baie uit na ons volgende sessie. Ek is nogal nuuskierig om uit te vind of sy haar ma en pa se ongelooflike oë gaan erf, maar met die twee as ouers gaan sy in elk geval nie anders kan as om eenvoudig beeldskoon te wees nie!
It's been 15 years since Rudd and Lucille got married and they decided it was time to get some nice shots of them as couple again. They had to attend a wedding in Stellenbosch one sunny afternoon and got me to take a few shots of them just before they had to be there - seeing that they were already dressed up and ready to go! It's not often that I get to shoot married people as a couple without their kids. I guess one can almost see it as a mini renewal of your vows in a way. Just to remind you of how much you still love each other and how much your love has grown over the years. Maybe I should convince my husband that we must do a shoot like this every ten years as an anniversary gift to ourselves...
