Werner’s proposal to Bronwyn was hands down one of the most romantic things I’ve ever seen. When he told me about his plans I got super excited and was so thankful that he chose me to photograph this very special event. My biggest worry was how I was going to contain the tears the moment he drops down on one knee to ask the big question! I am super sentimental and not to be trusted to remain dried eyed on such occasions. (Luckily, I managed!) For their 5ht anniversary as a couple, Werner took one photo from each year they have been together and had a poster made with a beautiful quote. He planned a romantic walk through the gardens at Vergelegen and placed the posters at strategic spots so that they can only be seen once you are right next to one of them. Bronwyn knew nothing about any of this and when they came across the first poster she burst out in tears! It was beautiful. The quote for 2014 was “Starting today, we need to forget what’s gone, appreciate what still remains and look forward to what’s coming next. To be continued…” He then surprised her again by presenting her with the most beautiful ring and asked her to be his wife. They then started this new and exciting journey together with a bottle of bubbly and an exquisite picnic in the Camphor Forest. Bronwyn, you are one lucky lady! I wish you two only the best and may your love for each other just grow and grow as the years go by!
