Sometimes when I meet someone, I’m just once again reminded how small the world can be. When Johnny and I started talking, we soon discovered that we studied at Stellenbosch University at more or less the same time, but never met there. He then went to London being good friends with some of my best friends from University who also lived and worked there at the time. My parents-in-law babysat my kids while I was busy with the shoot, and when I got home and told them about it, they started laughing, telling me that they lived in the same neighbourhood as Johnny’s parents while he was growing up, went to the same church and knew them quite well! Johnny and his British wife, Amy, is now back in South Africa and the proud parents of baby Kate. She is just adorable and was so calm and sweet during the entire shoot. At some point while she was sleeping they wanted a few shots including Benji, their gorgeous Golden Retriever. I suggested we put Kate on Benji and that was just cuteness overload! Benji took his responsibility of being careful with her very seriously and she slept like a baby. I simply couldn’t stop taking pictures!
